FINAL BLOG 


    In Spain the main two natural disasters that happen are floods either regular flood or flash floods. In Spain its more common for them to have flash floods. Flash floods come out of now where and they occur more and are hard to detect when they happen. In Europe where Spain is in their percentages of death due to floods is 70 percent. In Spain itself its 90 percent death due to floods. 

    The other main natural disaster are forest fires. This usually happens in the summer months. Within these months its easily over 40 degrees celsius, which is about 104 degree fahrenheit. In the last few years the fires have burned a little less then 500 hectares, which is about 1,235.5 acres. The climate conditions over time determines the amount of fuel it has collected for those fires to burn. 

    For the flash floods and the forest fire they already have plan to reduce the floods and fires. For the flash floods their is a chance for flash floods to increase due to the impermeable surface due to urbanization. Another thing is it differs due to the vegetation cover in small catchments. For the forest fires they are trying to cut down the fuel if they can so that would be by trimming down trees and bushes. Another main thing is fire prevention. I'm not sure if they already do this but another thing to help slow down forest fires is to have prescribed burns aka controlled fire. This burns the fuel that has been collected over time and the already have the are cleaned and ready to be put out. 

    Sadly in Spain the city to be most likely to be hit by a natural disaster is Madrid which is the capital of Spain. But Spain is one of the oldest cities in the world. It does make sense if Madrid is the most prone to natural disasters because the building are old and not well constructed back in the day when they where building the city. Madrid is the capital and where the most attention is by tourists and locals that live in Spain. Its also one of the most natural beauties in the world by how handmade everything was when it was being built.

    When they do rebuilt from natural disasters they have to consider the most natural disasters that happen over time. So for this occasion it would be flash floods and forest fires. For the flash floods the have to keep it towards the middle of the country to stay as dry but also high to keep water out. For the forest fires stay where its more wet to prevent forest fires and to help burn old branches and leafs to reduce the fuel in the forest.

CYCLONES Cyclones have been in Spain. They have gotten up to 70 mph so just as fast as a car on the highway. The winds have gotten up to over 100 mph. Also have gotten about 3 to 4 inches of rain. Cyclones near Spain have taken 300 to 500 thousand live I can't say how much Spain has been put in but thats just a total that they have thats near Spain. Their system is similar to there floods in a way. they only differences is to stay inside or inside and underground if possible. Then its the same as to have flashlight a radio and other essentials that you may need during the times.  Costal Erosion  In Spain about 50% consist of hard and soft cliffs.  Its abundant because of the Atlantic areas and the Canary and Balearic Island. The waves can vary form 0.2 to 5.40 meter in Spain. Spain's President has a lot of climate change and that is on top of his worries. In Spain their are a lot of things that happen weather and natural wise that are considered at high levels and their are very little that are medium and low. Spain is in a difficult location.
