TECTONICS The plate that Spain is sitting on are the Iberian and European plate. They collided together and they had formed the Pyrenees mountain range. These plates also move around 26mm/yr to the northeast. On this map you can see what plates there are as well as where they shift to. They also say how much they move within a years worth.  This map shows how the plates move and also say whats happening throughout the process of their movement. It also shows that its right under the capital of Spain.
